Accompanying video for the Skin Tutorial on my site:
http://www.farlowstudios.com/tutorials/skin-coloring/

Last part of this series.

You will notice around the time I am coloring her shoulder area, that her corset is still filled with the flat base colors, but by the time I moved on to her red elbow garment, the corset and much of her attire are done. This is because during those times the capturing software suddenly crashed, taking 20 minutes of footage with it. But still managed to squeeze in about an hour and a half of work into 7 minutes.

Sped to 8x its original speed.

  • 1st off your deviant art link goes somewhere called deviantANT(found you anyway), 2nd REALLY COOL! 3rd is there anyway you could post you doing the hair in normal speed, there's so many things i'd like to see when you did just that. thank you

  • the line art was good the color especially the hair and red parts are really weird looking

  • @TheFreakEssence in the photoshop layers pannel you can select the button next to the lock that says lock transparency and that will allow you to just color on your base coat, problem with that is that you have to stay on one layer but if you wanted to color on more than one layer then just highlight your base color layer and press n hold cntrl while clicking on the layer to make a selection of that area, then you can color on as many layers as you like.

  • how are you doint that your painting dosent effect other flaths than that you whant to color and how dosent they outline the ink? ( i was looking and you were useing Wand or lasso tool for that ) answer plz. :S

  • Great work on this image!

  • what are the brushes that you use to achieve the soft air brush effect?

  • @detourr I notice your comment has been a month from now, but I'll tell you anyway lol. I think only some versions of photoshop where you can rotate the canvas such as CS4. I don't think any CS below CS4 have such feature.

  • You saved my life with these videos man. learned more from these six videos and your tutorials than i ever did in my college photoshop class. thank you sooooooo much for putting these up. keep up the great work buddy, looking forward to seeing more of your work

  • how do you rotate the image in photoshop?
