This may look like a scary landing but it is typical of every landing on Cyril King's 7000+ ft runway. Surrounded by water it's one of the scariest landing I have ever had.

  • All of you who thinks its not scary? what if the pilots were flying in fog? and they flew nxt to rwy and landed in sea, if u do it in r/l u will land on the grass, maybe ovverun but at least not everyone will die? Not the scariest places though.

  • A-men!

  • wtf was scary about it?

  • Nothing scary here, especially since it appears to be a larger Delta Airlines plane. Try landing in a smaller island hopper plane from Puerto Rico or one of the other islands ! The runway here a ways back had a small mountain cliff that had to be removed because planes leaving couldn't clear it with a full load of fuel. They took on minimal fuel and relanded in St Croix only 30 miles away, topped off there, before beginning a longer flight.

  • I guess Chuck Norris hadn't visited these islands yet because the word Virgin is still in them.

  • I love this runway! I have flown here several times its fun coming in1

  • Scary???? I used to be so afraid of flying and to me this is nothing! We've flown to St. Thomas at least 15 times and this is a normal, smooth, landing.

  • NOT scary.

  • @amadeus49 one plane crashed into the mountian and tht kinda did most of the work they blew the rest down and another plane couldnt stop in time and the pilot turned and crashed into a gas station... (these were all before i was born in 1996... my grandfather told me all these stories happened when my mom was a kid...) the landing experience is "scary" like a roller coaster... when yu first get on its scary the second time its... ehh not so bad after tht yu get used to it...

  • @PilotCodzuy its really not scrary...

well maybe im used to it

but the runway is way longer than it was about 10 years ago

    THATS! scary.

the only i dont like is when they slam on the brakes and every one screams when they fly forward... tht jst annoys me...

  • What the hell was so scary about the landing? Dipshit.

  • @PilotCodzuy Its called an ILS, or Instrument Landing System. or possibly even an RNAV approach. They don't just fly blindly trying to remember where it was...

  • Thank you for posting this video... it reminds me of everytime I fly into to St. Thomas..

and for some reason I am always on the left side so this video brings back memories....

  • First time I flew in was in the 80's a twin prop. When leaving, one of the engines wouldn't start and they had someone actually spinning the prop until it finally started. Most recently, we were backing out an the power disconnected from the tug. We sat on the plane for 30 min while the navigation systems booted up. I joked that they got the windows blue screen of death. All this before the long flight over water.
