in sc4, i took my giant, sprawling city on a big island, destroyed the bridges leading to the mainland with meteors, built my sim a large tower on a smaller island, and watched as the ~30,000 people trapped on the big island lost power, and then got invaded by ufo's, burned alive, and finally became consumed by a pop-up volcano

"Hey, there's a whole bunch of nuclear explosions happening! Do you think we should stop the game and evacuate?"

Accidents happen. We're only human. There have only been a handful of plant meltdowns since their advent. Now I don't preach the low numbers like it's a good thing; people died obviously. The point still stands though that nuclear power is cleaner, more efficient, and in all actuality, safer. The big tradeoff is, if something goes wrong, this happens. It doesn't happen as often as people believe, but the reason most people get offset by nuke plants existing is because of the cold war scares.

Too bad a power plant can't ever blow up like a nuke so it is a tad unrealistic. They melt down not go boom. Its not the right type of Uranium to explode.
