can't you just connect these to your tv so you can have surround sound on everything you do? like tv, movies, gaming etc?
-
The way I did it: PS3/Xbox is connected to the TV with HDMI. TV is connected to my desktop PC's Sound Blaster card via optical connection. 5.1 speakers are then connected to the Sound Blaster. That gives you true 5.1 surround from a gaming console, assuming you already have a 5.1 card in your computer.

maybe old, but I now got a 5.1 SPA2602 system from philips, the back got three red.white audio in and those cables which come with it have 3.5 mm Jackplugs. (problem is I can only connect two of the three 3.5 mm jackplugs in the 360 cable, anyone help?

@Richyroooooo No. It would be nice to have the surround sound that that would offer but it doesn't. This way works great though.
