@40404040z Well, I'm not the guy from the vids, nor am I a falconer. But I can give you some advice on this situation. First, you need to be at least 14 years of age in the US to apply for a falconry license Second, you need a sponsor with at least a General falconry license. Third, I recommend(when you turn 14 of course) that you search your state's/country's falconry laws as they tend to vary a bit here and there.

so cool. beautiful bird. does anyone doubt they are ancestors of dinosaurs?
right now i have mating birds all over the yard. a mockingbird that sings all hours of the night-day. blackbirds, blue jays, spoon bill egrets, woodpeckers, (i try to convince people not to cut down dead trees, but we have a tree service in the neighborhood) mostly non-exotics, altho i do have owls, night birds, and have seen a rare cousin of the thought to be extinct ivory billed woodpecker.

You need a falconry sponsor and license first. You also need food for it and a perch. You need to do many things before you catch one. Kestrels are delicate and you will just be killing it if you don't know what you are doing. And if you injure it you can't just let it go back to the wild injured. You will have killed it.
