  • Clip into the pedals 'for safety'?!

I ride clips and flats. Clips are NEVER for 'safety'! Only thing they 'protect' you from is torn up shins. But pads do that even better! For absolute noobs, clips ALWAYS mean MORE crashes/falls with resultant damge to the bike. Ride flats until you are proficient. Then look at clips if you climb a lot. They keep you smooth for better traction and you can power w both legs at once on super-steep stuff. Clips can teach bad habits and impede learning real skills.

  • @giantbluemarlin Or just practice the motion of clipping in and out in a door way.

  • I regard the whole point of biking is getting away from all this crap and riding as fast as you can and if you have a bit of a bang no and then or kill yourself , thats life bit like casual sex smoking and dating naughty naughty women,.

you need diablierre in your life

  • Weve been doing this for 6 years. 10 mins later....weve been doing this for seven years . lol

  • ha ha, nice endo entrance green dude! FAIL!

  • wow 2 idiots give em a 20 foot droop and then well see if they know about mtb

  • Horrible Advice! You should NEVER strap your feet to the bike!

First off, every time you slow down or turn you risk the chance of falling to the side, which you need your foot to be able to catch yourself.

Secondly, when you crash or go over the handle bars, you will break your arms, neck, or back trying to catch yourself since your legs would not be able to break your fall. I've walked away many falls simple because I was able to jump over the handlebars and roll down a slope.

  • This guy is nothing but a worthless name dropper, nobody cares about who you know or who you work for, they came to learn about biking!
