  • Does these larvaes turn into butterflies?

  • @ssa12344 Well, it turns into a moth, a Sphinx Moth. When the moth is flying around it looks like a hummingbird and is sometimes called a hummingbird moth.

  • This clip was shot with a Canon GL2 on a tripod.

This was brilliantly done. I makes me want to start my own garden photography library. I started my first garden this year and of course what could go wrong went wrong including finding 3 of these vile things eating my tomato plants. I hope new ones do not show up.

  • I second that, this is a terrific video. Did you use a tripod? My sister just found eight of these buggers chowing down on her tomato plants, full size too. There could be a video in the works....

  • Awesome Video Dude! Wow, Such Clarity! What kind of Camera did you use take this Video?

You Must have used a Tri-pod?

Yea,i Just Learned about these Today! My Tomato Plant Had holes in the Leaves and i did not Know where they Were coming From.

My neighbor Cam over and Said " Wow, look at he inch Worm" and i said what?

Found: 4-5 of them under the leaves. They Like to hide under the Leaves in the Exact Shape of the leaf, Excellent Camouflage Experts! i'm uploading a Video as i write this.

  • They do have eyes, watermelon, but their eyes only detect light and dark at this stage. They become large moths that fly like hummingbirds. You get a green thumbs-up for wanting knowledge.

  • At work? More like "At Lunch". Great video, thanks for sharing.

  • whats the diffrents between a tobacco hornworm and a tomatoe hornworm?
