A mediocre version. Too fast, too much portamento, too much vibrato, the phrasing is definitely not German school, the voice in the high notes is like a tin flute. A bit better than the Venezuelian lady, but not good enough.

What a beautiful piece. Very lyrical singing and the rotary piccolo trumpeter really sings!!! What a great sound.

Thank you thank you for posting it!! Even if I prefere the recording Marsalis-Gruberova,that I have in mp3, I am really amazed of the absolute beauty of this music and the unbelieveble voice of Edita, wonderful and stop! ! I listened the Battle version but it is too slow and she has to take too many breaths...Gruberova is an ANGEL!!

Excuse me, a flat Gruberova is often better than most professionals do not even compare her to amateur status
