Watching the 2012 Skate Canada Competition, I thought back to previous performances. Something seemed lost in todays skaters. I recalled a German couple. Couldn't remember their names but started a search with "Stoyer" and finally made to this, which is what I was looking for. The speed, elegance, and strength of heart are as powerful today as they were in 1998. I love this performance, the music, the choreography, and the brilliant and passionate skating by Woetzel and Steuer. Bravo.

many years ago, when Xue Shen / Hongbo Zhao' s coach, Bin Yao, attended his first world competition in germany, germans laughed at him, just because he wasn't as good as the others. so, now we have seen Mandy Wötzel and Ingo Steuer doing the twist. It wasn' t much better as Bin Yao's, or even the same, Shen/ Zhao attended the olympic in the 1998 as well, compared to theirs twis, jumps and throws, Wötzel/ Ingo's were so poor. I wounder if germans laughed at Wötzel and Ingo as well.

the twist and throw were not so good though.

they are both so strong.......and for someone so small , can Mandy move!!!!!She is also now my coach......and she is great!

I loved it. When I saw this many years ago I found the CD and bought it and used the first piece for my very first program!

Their triple twist was not high at all; side-by-side double axels had mistakes; stiff legs in the 3 throw; side-by-side spin not together.
Elena and Anton had really one one mistake and you can see how they moved up.

Such a beautiful program. It was so well suited for them. I wanted them to win. Unfortunately like Brasseur and Eisler from Canada in 1994 they were injured as well.

I love this pair! Such a nice performance.. Didn't she have a big crush on him? I wonder why they never got together.. They look so good together.

yeah considering they were injured they skated well. I always liked them. I saw them live and they're great.
