This video is a tribute to Rick Springfield during his 70's musical career. As big a fan as I am of his music from the 80's and beyond, I feel that his early stuff sometimes goes unnoticed, and is criminally underrated. Enjoy these beautiful photos and Speak to the Sky, his first hit single as a solo artist.

  • Didn't he do music for a Filmation cartoon in the 70s? Anybody else remember it?

  • @imthedorf1964 Indeed. It was entitled Mission Magic. The theme song (which he performs) is on Youtube.

  • The Sonny and Cher pics! I love that episode with Rick! He sang What Would The Children Think. I have it taped, it's in a box, in this house, someplace. Wonder if it's out on DVD???

  • Ah you are very lucky, that episode of Sonny and Cher is nowhere to be found...I would love to see it

  • It's not on DVD? I better figure out what box it's in. If (well when, not if) I find it, I'll let you know.

  • Thanks! Oh and I saw your video with the song What Would the Children Think and I was happy because I haven't gotten to hear that song in a while. Thanks for uploading it

  • Great work. I love Rick so much. He looked and sounded simply PRECIOUS back then! Anyone who disagrees was born The Day After Yesterday, and better think twice about it. ;)

  • Super Song.

    Great Pictures.

  • @Blankfrackqueer

a lot of men thought that

    the guy was in demand

  • @imthedorf1964 Absolutely!! It was called "Mission Magic" and revolved around a magic teacher named Miss Tycle and her class

  • So much more than just a great beauty - Rick's 70's output included some of the finest of ballads (What Would the Children Think, Believe in Me, Million Dollar Face etc) Thanks to a drive and work ethich second to none, he is now admired and respected, and not just swooned over. His courage and musical gifts are things of beauty. Check out his interviews - here is an extraordinary man.

  • @Blankfrackqueer but it was me all along....

  • All about that Jesus Rock

  • Ugh, I love him so much.

  • I loved this great tune growing up! Thanks for the great post! BobbyK

  • I saw Rick in 1985. Regrettably, he left this one out.
