Herbivore vs. Carnivore - You be the judge !
http://www.bizarro.com/videos/mov/VeganVideoWeb.mov

The documentary Meat the Truth is the first major project undertaken by the Nicolaas G. Pierson Foundation. Meat the Truth is a high-profile documentary, presented by Marianne Thieme (leader of the Party for the Animals), which forms an addendum to earlier films that have been made about climate change. Although such films have convincingly succeeded in drawing public attention to the issue of global warming, they have repeatedly ignored one of the most important causes of climate change, namely: intensive livestock production. Meat the Truth has drawn attention to this by demonstrating that livestock farming generates more greenhouse gas emissions worldwide than all cars, lorries, trains, boats and planes added together.
The Nicolaas G. Pierson Foundation chose to compile the best scientific information on climate change and livestock farming, which is presently available and to translate this for a broader audience. The film was produced by Claudine Everaert and Gertjan Zwanikken. The calculations on greenhouse gas emissions used in the film derive from and have been validated by the Food and Agricultural Organisation of the UN (FAO), the World Watch Institute, the Institute for Environmental Studies of the Free University Amsterdam and numerous other authoritative sources.
Well-known Dutch celebrities, such as Anthonie Kamerling, Georgina Verbaan, Henk Schiffmacher, Yvonne Kroonenberg, Karen van Holst Pellekaan, Wim.T.Schippers and Dolf Jansen, participated in the making of the Dutch version of this documentary, which has already been deemed better than Al Gores An Inconvenient Truth by the science editors of the quality Dutch daily newspaper, the NRC Handelsblad.
In the meantime, the Nicolaas G. Pierson Foundation has also produced an international version of Meat the Truth. This English language film is better tailored to an international public and uses calculations on the carbon savings that may be achieved by reducing ones meat consumption based on American, rather than Dutch, examples.
Many well-known celebrities, such as Pamela Anderson, Bill Maher, James Cromwell, Emily Deschanel, Tony Denison, Esai Morales, Megan Blake, Debra Wilson Skelton, Elaine Hendrix, Kate Flannery, Carol Leifer, Joy Lauren, Hal Sparks, Constance Marie, Kristina Klebe, Skyler Gisondo, Graham Patrick Martin, Greg Vaughan and Touriya Haoud Vaughan, participated in the making of the international version of the film.
With this documentary, the Nicolaas G. Pierson Foundation hopes to make a contribution to the societal discussion about a more plant-based and thus also more animal-friendly diet and society. Moreover, the Foundation also anticipates that the film will provide a showcase for prominent scientific reports about livestock farming and climate change, which unfortunately have thus far proved inaccessible to the general public.
The world premiere of Meat the Truth was held on 10th December 2007 in the Tuschinski cinema in Amsterdam. The international version of the film premiered at London's Odeon West End Cinema in Leicester Square on 19th May 2008 and has since also had its premiere screening in the USA at the Egyptian Theatre, Hollywood, LA during the Artivist Film Festival on 3rd October 2008.

  • @percy888ferry What makes me sick to my stomach is that meat eaters and meat producers act as if livestock is nothing more than an inanimate commodity like screws or paper... not SENTIENT LIVING BREATHING FEELING BEINGS. These people are completely SOULLESS.

  • Oh no global warming!! Kill all the people and the animals so we can save the people and the animals!

  • Why are we only told one side of the story? People want to stop the cutting down of the rainforest by making laws. Why don't they try telling people to stop eating animals? Sounds like a better way to me.

  • lol. i thought she was talking to a photo until he replied her. hahahahaha

  • @jaxgal618 What makes me sick to my stomach is that people like you rather than supporting the farms that let the cows live in fields grazing, you deprive your body of a good source of nutrients and protein

  • vegan says we're more like a cow in our gut than have guts like a wolf

  • @geeq13 Global warming will be what we wish we had, when the global weather turns colder. At least in a global warming scenario, more food can be grown worldwide. As the earth cools, it will be more necessary to add meat to the diet, as vegetables have to be grown further away from cities, and in smaller areas. Goodbye global warming; hello expensive vegies.

  • I dont care if you are a vegetarian or omnivore but it all ges to respect whatever we do in lives..Global warming has a space in this world and its great that everyone is getting involve and this video opens the mind of the same people in this world. Its all about helping this world and get as much knowledge about it. It all comes down for us saving the place.

  • GLOBAL WARMING IS BULLSHIT.

  • there are many considerations in making judgements about this issue. Cruelty to animals doesn't seem to play into this as much as the monopoly of big business and the lack of ethical decisions that are made on their behalf. Consumer advocacy is only as important as the consumer's needs and needs to know,,, what do we need to know and is knowing helping us in any way? can we, as individuals make a difference?

  • @90Rush

How do you figure 4% ???

PCRM has a paid staff of 35, with a membership of approximately 9,000 physicians and 120,000 supporting members.

They promotes a vegan diet, preventive medicine, alternatives to animal research.

They educate people about nutrition and compassionate choices to healthcare professionals and the public. Yes, they care about animal welfare - and the downside to this is what ????? Trying to prevent animal and human death sounds like a good thing to me.
