Hahaha you guys say your instinctive shooting! That is NOT instinctive shooting! Your aiming and your holding your bow at full draw. I'm an instinctive shooter and I don't have to aim at all, and I snap shoot. Pull her back and let her fly! I can hit a bullseye at 30yrds within half a second. Getting better every day! Happy hunting!

@5tonyvvvv 3rivers achery online has everything you need to make primitive bows and knives.. They are an outstanding company and have provided me with a lot of info and great advice.

@maddipper12 where you anchor has nothing to do with it. It all depends on if you use your arrow as a sight before release or if you are staring at a small point on your target, feeling your way in. I shoot instinctive but anchor at my eye because it allows me a smoother release follow through.. Anchor point is a matter of preference. How you aim is where instinctive or gap is decided.

why are they pulling to there eye? not instinctive at all

@Woodenarrows Its been hard to find the right materials for these ancient style bows, from sinew strings to cane or viburnum arrows..and the archery shops just sell compound bows, they know nothing about this stuff.
I have always wanted to get into archery, but one question which might seem really dumb - why do you cant the bow? Surely this adds an additionally but unnecessary element into the equation of hitting the target?

@Minkymoo222 Canting your bow actually improves accuracy when shooting instinctively. It allows for a better sight window by getting the bow out of the way, it rotates your forearm away from the bowstring and it gives you a more natural bow grip. If you just stick out your arm you’ll probably find you hand is naturally tilted a little. Also, for some bows with narrow arrow shelves, it may be the only way to keep the arrow on the shelf. Canting is not a good thing if you use sights.

"out of the shoot"... as in no more shooting? Or can you pick up a second arrow and keep shooting just for a nice day out in the woods with no further scoring points?
Also, what if someone robin-hoods your arrow? Out in that case too?
It's highly unlikely I'll ever shoot with you guys, but I can't help thinking about details like that. :)

@thirteenfingers Out of the scoring competition for the "Iron Man". Everyone is welcome to shoot for fun, as long as it's after the competitive round. The "One arrow" rule only applies to the 10 target Iron Man competition. The regular 40 target, 2 round, 3 class weekend event allows as many arrows as you need to complete the shoot. We also do an after dark 10 target shoot.
Robin Hood? Has never come up but it would only be fair to allow that person to continue with a subsituted arrow.

These shoots are alot of fun. A little frustrating at times, but still fun. We do these at my archery club here in Ohio. Nice video.
