New Rochelle Superintendent Richard Organisciak reads the official statements issued last week at the December 16, 2008 School Board meeting. The District acknowledged a "lapse in judgement" for tearing out pages in dozens of copies of Susanna Kaysen's memoir "Girl, Interrupted" without explaining how it happened, who actually did it and what prompted the action in the first place. Sources in New Rochelle have disclosed that a serious disciplinary incident associated with the missing chapter prompted the action.
yes, exactly. The book is honest and open and it is a shame that people feel ashamed to read the book.
