Is something wrong with my hamster? HELP*

He is very inactive most of the time I see him. He sleeps a lot, which is starting to make me worried. Based on the video, do you think I should take him to the vet for check up??

To everyone thinking that it is alright for them to chew the bars it isn't; with him chewing on the bars it can cause serious health problems. You either need a bigger cage or more chew items in your cage. As for him sleeping all the time; he's nocturnal and it is normal for him to sleep the day away.

your hamster is fine they bite the bars to shorten there teeth and they are nocturnol so they sleep in the day so dont get worried but that gap in the bars is a problem by the way have you bathed your hamster if not DONT!

hamsters are nocturnal (sorry if i havent spelt it right) and they are so much more awake at night. my hammy always bites me when i wake it up, and then on a night its all over me and doesnt stop nibbling away!

your hamster is perfectly normal, he chews the bars of the cage because he needs to trirm his teeth, i have had three hamsters, and all of them have chewed jst about everything in their reach, even their plastic house. there used to be a door seperate to the window in the little plastic house. not any more because we kept the same house for all three hamsters. he's normal and healthy!
