I think Seth wears a beret because he's ashamed of how much hair he has, compared to the looming baldness of his master, Kane. In the Brotherhood, baldness is strength.

@dedmonds1988 I actually won this mission because of the bad AI. The entire GDI base was still there, they even still had their construction yard and harvester. I had lost all my units except for my engineer, but thankfully I'd taken out the guard towers, so I managed to sneak my engineer in there and capture the Orca. It was still in good health so as long as I timed my assault properly to avoid the gunboat, I had free reign. The GDI in the base never even attacked me once.
