For more than 30 years, musicians and engineers have relied upon the MXR Flanger/Doubler as one of best-sounding bucket-brigade flanging effects ever made. Through its signature flanging, doubling, and delay effects, the MXR Flanger/Doubler imprints a unique stamp on guitars, bass, keys, drums, or just about any source needing movement and depth. Developed in close collaboration with Dunlop Manufacturing, the MXR Flanger/Doubler plug-in for the UAD-2 platform replicates the legendary sound of this classic studio and stage effect with unparalleled accuracy.

  • It's funny how all the emulations get us closerto recreating the 70's sound, but music more and more sounds far from it.

  • Didn't see that one coming

  • All nice and well, but can it do Through Zero Flange like the real classic sounds of the 70's?

  • @wikkidthings the outdated gear for old-schoolers - as you call it are still used in every high end studio where all your favorite music and albums are recorded and mixed.

And SoundToys plugins basically models "old school" harmonic distortion of tape recorders, tube preamps, they modeled their fx/delay plugin after eventide h3000 harmonizer. .

  • @wizprodux Thank you, this is exactly why I'm less & less interested in UAD. I'm interested in the cutting edge of audio production, not recreating some washed-up shit from the 70s. Fabfilter, Flux, Soundtoys & Slate are light years ahead of UAD IMHO. UAD=spending countless hours precisely replicating outdated gear for old-schoolers. Don't even care.

  • ccol BUT why didn't they copy the more esoteric and rare vertical half rack flanger and phaser?

  • Nice.
