Fai has been my favorite character for AGES, so I had to make a tribute :3
and seriously, he has the worst past I've EVER seen in an anime or manga... if you know a character with a worse past PLEASE TELL ME
because I DUN BELIEVE YOU xD

Fai is my Favorite charater in Tsubabsa however i wanna kno more about him and his past! All i kno is the things they said in the anime like that he froze his king, Ashura, and ran away from his world. But that's basically it! I probably wont be able to read the manga so can sombody plz explain this to me? lik y did he freeze Ashura? and who is this kid that looks exactly lik him? Plz! I need to kno more!

@roquekween17 it's been a while since I read the manga but I'll try and explain it to you ^^ But it's going to be longer than one post xD Fai's name is actually Yuui, but he took on the name of his twin brother (the other boy you see in the video), it was said in his country that if they were happy, everyone else in town would suffer, so they locked one twin in a high tower and the other down below in a pit where they threw dead bodies. Fai (so actually Yuui) was the one in the pit.

@M0oranshi The king of that country went crazy and started killing everyone (I think) and then threw himself in the pit, blaming Fai for bringing misfortune. Everybody in the country was dead except for the twins now. Time doesn't flow in the tower and the pit so they stayed there for a huge amount of time which made them look so starved. Then Fei wong Reed promised the twin in the tower Fai would survive if he gave up his life, so the twin jumped down in the pit. Then Ashura came to resque Fai.

@M0oranshi Fai didn't want to let go of his brother, so he used a magical feather of Sakura to put inside his brother and made it so that his body doesn't rot, and he kept him in that water. Ashura learned him magic and learned him to smile to make others happy. But then Ashura wen insane (I think) or he had a curse that made him kill. Everybody in the country they moved to was dead again and Fai thought it was his fault because he 'attracks misfortune'.

@M0oranshi So he used magic to make Ashura sleep for a long, long time and he kept his body in the water as well. Then he set out to travel with the others because that's what Fei Wong Reed wanted (not sure about this part) Hope that was clear enough ^^ He really has the saddest past ever ;_;

@MataAshita13 if he got in the way of Fei Wong's plans. A big battle ensues, and Kurogane destroys the real Fai's body to try to get Fai to snap out of it and even kills Ashura because Fai wasn't going to and Ashura had Fai by the throat and was choking him. So he ran him through with his sword. That's when the second curse activated. The world of Celes started to collapse around them and Fai was trapped. That's where the Shunraiki OVA starts.

@MataAshita13 get stronger than him and he didn't want to kill him. The other curse comes into play after Tokyo and Infinity, they go to Celes (or Seresu) and Fai's past is revealed to the group and Ashura expects Fai to up and kill him, but Fai refuses until Ashura begins to threaten Sakura's life (he has her body held captive). Another flash from Fai's past reveals that Fei Wong intended to get Kurogane to be his pawn as well, but Yuuko got to him first and Fai was instructed to kill Kurogane

@M0oranshi That is a lot of it. There's a little bit before Ashura came to rescue him. Fei Wong Reed appeared to both twins and the real Fai made him promise to get Yuui out of there. Fei Wong made Yuui believe he had chosen to kill the real Fai to save himself and in return for promising to bring his brother back to life (yeah right) he made Fai (Yuui) his pawn. Fai has 2 curses on him: one to kill someone with stronger magic than him, which is why he froze Ashura, because he was about to
