See what 6' x 8' x 6' really looks like. Platoon leader SFC Toby Nunn gives a tour of where the men of Bad Voodoo Platoon live on base at Camp Virginia, Kuwait. Watch "Bad Voodoo's War" plus Web exclusive video clips online at http://www.pbs.org/frontline/badvoodoo

In June 2007, as the American military surge reached its peak, a band of National Guard infantrymen who call themselves the "Bad Voodoo Platoon" was deployed to Iraq. To capture a vivid, first-person account of the new realities of war in Iraq for FRONTLINE and ITVS director Deborah Scranton (The War Tapes) created a "virtual embed" with the platoon, supplying cameras to the soldiers so they could record and tell the story of their war. The film intimately tracks the veteran soldiers of "Bad Voodoo" through the daily grind of their perilous mission, dodging deadly IEDs, grappling with the political complexities of dealing with Iraqi security forces, and battling their fatigue and their fears.

  • Reminds me of when I was in Iraq back in 2005. Watching that wind blow in the video reminds me of the hot air hitting my face whenever I'd stand outside. Those tents get real hot inside during the day (hotter than outsite). I remember having to sleep on those cots in pt shorts, and I would still be hot because of the heat.

  • i was there in november of 08 it really sux we had 3 straight days of sand storms and 100 plus temps. the food sux internet sux and everything about that place sux

  • Nice. I was there in '03. We had no ac, no door, no lockers, and no concrete patio.

I also see that you guys are walking around without full battle gear, which was mandatory when I was there.

Heck, we weren't even allowed to have video cameras. We had to hide our cameras or have them confiscated.
