  • It's going to confuse people into thinking that this has something to do with the way people practise Islam in the Philippines.

  • I'd prefer that this video is not called 'Filipino Muslim Dance' and renamed as either 'Southern Filpino Dance' or 'Maranao Dance'. This is purely a cultural dance and there is no Islamic elements (as opposed to nasheed and sufi).

  • this Dance is not an Islamic Dance you really can't find any Muslim tradition here. This is a Mranao traditional Dance. by the way, Maranao or Maranaw are the same but all are still wrong because the correct spelling is Mranao. also, it is not really necessary to say that all performers are Muslims because now a days it was also performed not only by Mranao but all Filipinos because department of tourism found out that we Filipinos have our own traditional dance which is Singkil.

  • I find it odd that Filipinos attribute this dance and even post this dance as pertaining to a certain religion. I have watched the dance I saw a few elements of people being depicted which I call Islamic elements but to be honest there is not much Muslim about this dance. Why is 'tinikling' called by its name and not referred to as: Christian dance? Are all dancers required to be Muslim for this dance? And what is different between Maranao and Maranaw?

  • i like it...this is the traditional dance of maranaw's..

  • ...singkil b yan? eh asik yan eh... alam q hanggang 3 lang ang asik... bat an dame?

  • the singkil is a courtship dance by the prince and the princess. the princess has her attendants, around 6 dancers. the warrior-prince has 1 guard with him. the princess has to enter the stage carried on the poles by the male attendants. her parasol holder attendant has to be by her side all the time. after the dance the princess has to be carried out on the poles again with the prince following a little far behind.

  • PANIRA UNG NKA PUTI!< HINID ALAM ANG STEPS!

  • nice... the original singkil really didnt have a prince .. it was usually all female dancers .. well done..

  • That's not singkil
