Circuit bending is the art of purposefully shorting out an electronic device to create new and original tones. On Mondays at Northeastern University, Dan Demchuk hosts a circuit bending workshop for beginners and advanced benders. The concept is to bring collective ideas to the table, and strive to create radically unique sounds.
In this segment, we discover that video reacts quite unpredictably with bending. An LCD screen that appears to not be attached to anything else on the device goes haywire when Dan adjusts the potentiometer. Although not intentional, interesting accidents like these can prove extremely useful when circuit bending.
Information on circuit bending can be found in Gearwire's first tutorial.
