Try putting on high gain but rolling off the volume/tone knobs on your guitar a bit?

Single coil distorted tone with no humm at all.Really fkn good.

@theweirdphone its the technique with your picking hand and fret hand. palm mute with the picking hand and make sure you're playing close to frets. also is youve got bass, middle and treble settings on your amp set teh bass to 8 teh middle to 8 and the tone to 5/6 then you can crank up the distortion. you'll also find at low volumes the distortion sounds muddy but turn it up louder its fine. alot of the time adjust the eq on the amp and youll get the sound you want

I wish I had a cleanish distored tone to my guitar. I just can't get the settings right on my amp or Boss gt 10.... It's either to Distored where you can barely hear notes or two clean where there is no sustain.
