Busy, busy, busy.

The Storyteller series is an experiment in rediscovering the art of public storytelling around the Internet campfire. These traditional stories are told from memory, without script or text, embellished in the telling. Performances are recorded in front of a live audience, edited for time and episodic presentation.

Watch this channel for times and locations of future live performances.

    That's one helluva pike!

Can't really say I love the text overlays on this video, snarkily commenting on the people who dare to play basketball drills with the radio on. There's an air of haughty condescension... that's not cool. I'm sure your work is very important but that doesn't make their choice of leisure activity worth mocking, especially when you take a jab at their folly and then follow with a proud presentation of your own. What, are your outtakes better than theirs?

  • " a minor media blitz " ...whatever

  • :) Hello again, hows the planning, ,I' have got one of those messages Abort Retry Fail? whilst working on something, aint that anoying when we' are confronted with a choice like that, given by a computer system?, just thought i share the decision to say this with the whole of youtube and the internet, do you think? a computer system should report this back to us!, all the time :)

  • Ben, I think it would be interesting if you did like an addendum to some of the readings, giving a bit of historical backround -- or, even better, some of your thoughts and insights into the mythic meanings of each part of the saga.

  • :-], Ohh i, see, howto reel, busy planning another, why not, its an option? :-]

  • Almost as old as Gilgamesh? Hardly. You cannot compare the dates of Gilgamesh in its more and less finished form and the oldest carvings found that might hint at Völsunga. If you take the oldest bits that have something to do with the Völsunga you must compare them to the oldest similar bits of Gilgamesh and this comparison makes Gilgamesh more than a millennium older than Völsunga.

    Anyways, love the series.

  • Do you want this Storyteller series to be yours alone or do you want other people to participate? I'm asking because I'm contemplating on doing a bit from Kalevala, the National Epic of Finland.
