  • @mostenan The details are easy to obtain on line or through people that did far more with far less. This is a state of the art house with a very high price tag. Most will never be able to afford this. However, much more can be done with far less. Just take a look at our farm. Are energy self sufficient and we sale energy as well. Further we build every thing with recycled materials and ecological. It cost me one fifth of what the house in the video is worth and I generate one third more energy.

  • @DBSpy1 "don't understand why Japan does not use wind power."

Japan is not a windy country, I know I lived there for a long time.

You can count on wind only when typhoons are coming, but it's not very reliable source.

It would make much more sense to use geothermo energy but the technology is not quite there to make it really dependable.

  • It is sad to see that humans lack the wisdom, foresight and intelligence to make the right decisions and take the best pass possible avoiding major men made disaster. In stead we wait until a major disaster strikes forcing us to think and evaluate our actions. Further this house is a 40 million Yen or nearly $500,000.00 worth. Rather then showing the unattainable for most, it would be good journalism to show those houses and farms that have been made energy self sufficient by the average people.

  • All I get from this is that the yuppies will be able to (sometimes) power their blenders with sunbeams.

  • @DBSpy1 They do use windpower, just not so many people do in the city. It's seen more in rural villages, as they have much more wind and space to use windmills to their full extent.

  • I wish I could afford that here in Calif. and not have it be a get in the red scam. I don't understand why Japan does not use wind power, its an Island and I never heard of a Island that does not have lots of wind.

  • I know what they 're doing is great, but how many rich people would do the same, I bet the rich just use up the power that the middle class just saves

  • @NoNORADon911 don't get too over excited- sometimes they forget to turn em off, and seeing this video is named "Japan Package" I think they forgot to edit the videos details/settings. But yeah- Al Jazeera- if you are reading this- don't disable comments
