Umm, yeah, they do get you high. Normally someone would say I'm tripping on mushrooms instead of high on mushrooms, but its the same thing. Being high just means your conscious is altered by a drug, and your normally euphoric. Also, MANY people and cultures throughout history have considered weed and entheogen.

Firstly, entheogens do not make you "high". That's what weed does. Secondly, sure the medical definition does mainly apply to people who has the condition naturally, but does not exclude the term to describe the same condition educed by other means, as an example a 'tic' is still a tic if a person has Tourettes or it being a side effect of some form of medication.

definition: A condition in which one type of stimulation evokes the sensation of another, as when the hearing of a sound produces the visualization of a color.

doesn't say owt about whether it's from birth or from a high. it's the EFFECT. what causes it doesn't enter it's fundamental description.
