Maddy singing at her Senior Voice Recital with the Bridges Academy of Fine Arts. Instructor: Beverly Laubach. Accompanied by Catherine S. Filmed in May 2008 at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, Houston, TX. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia..."Deep River" is an anonymous spiritual of African American origin. It has been sung in several films, including the 1929 film version of Show Boat, although it was not used in the original show. The melody was also adapted into the popular song Dear Old Southland, in 1921. This arrangement is by Moses Hogan.
Lyrics:
Deep River, My home is over Jordan. Oh, Deep River Lord. I want to cross over into campground.
Oh, Deep, Oh, my home is over Jordan,
Oh, Deep River, Lord.
I want to cross over into campground.
Oh, don't you want to go, To that gospel feast.
Oh, that promised land, Where all is peace.
Oh, Deep River, Lord, I want to cross over into campground.
I like your rendition. Very nice!

I can't give you a technical critique. I will simply say that I really enjoyed listening to your performance - really a nice sounding voice. I also enjoyed the piano accompaniment.

@x3taim4musiqqx3 You should also look up constructive criticism. That's so unnecessary.

It's not nice to criticise a persons artistic efforts but if they are not subject to criticism, it isn't art. The performer has made a great deal of effort but who ever trained her have murdered more than the song. This girl has talent and breaking up the vowels into dee, ee, ee, eep is too chunky, too many theatrics too and not enough ability. The song should always be the most important part of the performance, not the singer. Sing as if you believe the words and care about their meaning.
