Here are the highlights from Jeanette' s last press conference as a Green MP, where she announced her departure from Parliament. Jeanette Fitzsimons was the Green Party's first MP in the House and after 13 years she is returning to her family and her farm. Highlights from her Parliamentary career include welcoming 7 new Green MPs into the House in 1999 after a close election, passing the Energy Efficiency & Conservation Act, and negotiating a massive home insulation fund to make kiwi homes warm and dry. Farewell Jeanette!

  • because in the world of national, act and the kiwi party peace is measured in terms of how much we can pollute and how much we can abuse others. and, oh, how much we can centralise

  • You are an amazing women Jeanette and i have done amazing things because of you! ie cleaned up the way i farm, and the way i live. I will miss you greatly!

  • @stormpand

Your comment about sustainability makes absolutely no sense.

well if you don't understand i can't explain it to you put just to try and explain it the green party have showen little intrest in economic development nor have they showen much intrest in being economicly green all they do is protest against anything economic because of minor, miniscule ineffective pollution

when it comes to the enviroment they no constructive reserch ideas for pollution and green issues no nothing

  • What is exactly wrong with the anti smacking bill? ahhhh it criminalize ordaniary parents for correcting their children.

besides is't there a crime called child abuse which is actual, violent, child abuse their is no need for the anti smacking bill, its dumb

wouldn't anti-smacking bill be a move toward peace regardless of your views? no its a move towards oppression

wouldn't anti-smacking bill be a move toward peace regardless of your views?

Anyway I farewell Jeanette. she has been a key member of both parliament and the green party and will be missed greatly

can you honestly believe that by committing a crime you lose your right to a future? The green party believes in giving everyone an equal shot at life even if they have committed crimes. THIS DOES NOT MEAN EASY PAROLE THIS MEANS PAROLE WHEN IT IS EARNED

Legalizing cannabis is not a green party policy.

they have never had any intentions to lower education standards in anyway (unlike nationals plan to teach to the test)

  • 1:27 sustainability? yeah right more like economic nothingness i never see anything sustainable now all i see is protesting and activisim

justus? yeah right more like soft pants justus and making criminals look like vicims who need rehab cv's and easy parol or an exuse to let criminals out and put red tape on police and the system

peace? yeah right more like legalise cannibis (not healthy) lowering the education standards and anti smacking.

greens have stoop down into a left party
