  • Did you get those on the motor or chassis? On the chassis dyno it was 305HP & 480 Torque. The runs were to check on the nitrous for setup and ensure it wasn't lean. Also discovered the C6 was cooked when I got home. Heading back in the spring to do some more runs and check the nitrous with the new water/methanol system.

  • Thanks. It's a 3" body lift which helped with clearance issues for the ram air box and nitrous and water/methanol plates. Tires are M/T Baja Claws, 35" X 12.5.

  • A 351M that is now a 603???? It would need a huge set of spacers for the the block and a crazy stroked crank to reach that. A 460 bored 0.030 is a 466 so a 0.060 over is twice that (472). To get 603 cubic inches out of a 460 you would need a SVO block bored and stroked to the max or start with a tall deck aluminum block.

The HP numbers I got show what turning big wheels chew up, I had 33's the year before and lost 50HP when I dynoed again with 35's.

  • Have any video of it? Love seeing these trucks!

  • I can't comment on any other casting but for the 385 series up to 40 over is no problem. Once you get over that a sonic check of wall thickness is good insurance, you can go 80 over and sometimes 120 if you're lucky enough to find a really good casting. 80 over and up would be wise to do a half or full block fill to keep the cylinders stable, again it depends if you're racing or on the street. Lots of variables to simply make a blanket statement.

  • Unfortunately the scoop on the truck is now out of production. Summit Racing has one close to it in style though.

  • @a1stooge Believe me, you don't XD 10 MPG is not so fun, but the torque is!

  • Our 460 bored .60 overto 472 as well gets 425hp and 538 tq no nitrous. in a 79 f250 supercab ya its scares people . Although built for nitrous just not needed in a work truck. What did you dyno at.

  • would have liked to see a fe motor built up in that truck

  • @JSRmontcalm oh yeah? what about a 440 w a six pack??

  • @63Rebelman ol even though its "not" a 603 it has well over 750 i know that because of the dyno run up in orlando florida idk what kind of block it is now but its the same block as when i bought the truck back in 1978...so idk then guess ima half to exsplore it soon

  • @funkyboy4scar a 351m/400 block cannot be bored safely past .040 over. so who ever told you it was a 603 is full of crap. They are very tough motors but why put money into one. building a 351w or 460 would be much smarter and easier to find parts for

  • haha i wish my '76 sounded like that with its 300 I6
