There will be now. the talk is (and maybe it's already happened) that Garmin started switching out receivers in the newest builds of 76 and 60 cx/csx models. The reason they are so good is because they paid the premium and used SiRFstar III receivers in them. The talk is they dropped that in favor of their own garmin receiver chips after SiRF ran into financial problems. time will tell if non-SiRF 60/76's get to market. Perhaps they are on shelves now, i don't keep up with it.

I'm still using 60CSx and no plan to upgade after I'd made side by side comparison to Colo and Oregon. First thing I realised how poor their screen under bright sunlight if you're not turn on the backlight. 60CSx also lock satt. signals faster than both of them. In the rain forest (high humid, unpredictable weather...) using touch screen or scroll roller are not the best option if your gps covered with mud or heavy rain. Just try it and you will understand what i mean.

The speed displayed in this video is kilometers per hour.

I am in the market for a handheld GPS. It is between the 76CSX at $260 and the Colorado 300 at $390. Both have only basemaps, no pre-loaded maps. Which should I get? thanks

Do NOT buy the Colorado!
If you're buying a GPS for use in the wilderness/woods I would go for a 60CSX/76CSX. It is very accurate, has long batterylife, It will survive swimming/diving and a tough beating.
If you're buying a GPS for Geocaching or combined hiking/wilderness/automotive - go for the new Oregon with touchscreen.
I love my new Oregon and use while geocaching, hiking, driving a car or a motorcycle. It's great!

I am looking to buy a GPS to geocash on a boat and on river islands. This is why I'm torn. I like the Oregon, but don't know how tough it is. I don't know what to do. I like the paperless funtion of the Oregon too. If you were going geocashining on an island taking a jon boat, ot the two GPS systems you have, which would you take?

I think the reception on the Oregon is pretty similar to the 76CSX, but I've really not done any real comparissons.
For geocaching the Oregon is superior to the 76CSX with the ability for viewing full cache descriptions and the use of "field notes".
I did a test with completely submerging the Oregon in water earlier today, and I will post the video on youtube later today.
