hey blake, i have a question. i am thinking of purchasing an Iphone 3gs because i had a palm pre (which does not have a sim card) and i think i water logged it so i am planning on buying a 3gs and inserting a bell sim card. i don't know if i am going to get an 8gb or 16gb, but would an 8gb be fine for under 1000 songs, minimal pictures and videos? not movies just if i happen to record.

Or unlocked phone the sim card will activate properly,
So do u really think I won't be able to use the iPhone 3G to telus, because I'm sure it's compatible because I called telus and they told me to give them the IMEI number and they said it's compatible

Alright thx man, but the iPhone 3G is a telus iPhone , I just unlocked it because one of the people from telus told me that try to unlock it because maybe the iPhone was jailbroken and when it was updated to iTunes it relocked it but I told them it's a telus iPhone but i did it anyway.
Maybe it's definitely the sim card cause it will say activating may take some time, cause this is the first time I activated the sim card and maybe if I try to put the sim card in another telus phone or unlocked

Because I put a rogers sim card in the unlock iPhone 3g, and it will work perfectly no problems at all, but when I put my telus sim card it will say,"activating may take some time", then it would say, "your selected cellular network is restricted...".

Hello, I have problems, so I bought an iPhone off of someone, and everytime I would put my new telus sim card that I just activated it would say "activating may take some time", but it wouldnt activate on my iphone 3g even still now when I activated my sim card back in June 13, and then it would say "your cellular network is restricted....".
Then when I updated my iphone 3g to the latest firmware ios 4, then I unlocked the iphone 3g, then I put my Mom's rogers sim card in and it worked perfect

if this was bell could i unlock to use fido sim

Can't quite hear him...
PLEASE!!! someone help me and find out what's the problem, because the problem isn't with the iphone 3g obviously because it would work on a rogers sim card.
Pls help me I'm loosing hope for telus!
Thx alot

@yeeboii1521 I am not an expert on this, but it is probably because it is a rogers iPhone and the telus network is not supported on it. Also it could be because the iPhone on Telus's network run on HSPA, and maybe that iPhone 3G doesn't support that. Take it into your local Telus and see what they can do.

@socialmacbook do you think 1gb is enough?? Or do you even use that much? Because in getting the 500mb plan and not using YouTube or the web on it. Just apps. And wi fi. Because I don't have to have a huge bill every month. So what do you think?

@gymnastics404 Yes 1GB is enough, and so is 500MB if you are not using youtube. I have 1GB a month, and since I got my iPhone is December, I never even went over 500MB yet combined. And that is without wifi most of the time. So if you are just using it for apps on wifi, you will have no problem with going over your monthly limit.

Do you use 1GB of data or not even that much a month?
