Mailman Suspected of Stealing Our Mail

We just pretty much caught our mailman redhanded(trying) to steal our package!!! We filed an investigation with USPS yesterday(12/8/11), the postmaster spoke to him this morning and he(postmaster) says mailman(says) the package was put into our mailbox(on Wednesday), but it wouldn't even fit in our mailbox.. On our way home from talking to the postmaster we saw our mailman leaving the road from our house, I stopped him and confronted him about our missing package. While talking to him he flat out would not look me in the eye and kept shifting around nervously.. Then after our talk we followed the mailman directly to our neighbors house across the street where our package was sitting on their front porch clearly visible from the road, BUT(yes in all caps) it was not sitting on their porch when we left our house an hour earlier to go talk to the people at the post office, we looked and can clearly see it from the road. It also wasn't there yesterday...We checked thinking he may have mistakenly delivered it to the wrong house. IT WAS NOT ON THEIR PORCH. Period! After he got the package off our neighbors front porch and handed it to my wife I reconfronted him, but recorded it this time.. I'm uploading that recording to YouTube for the world to see/hear.(I kept the camera in my pocket while talking to him) I'll post a link to that video when it's finished, and would love to hear what you have to say about what was said. I don't know the guys name, but he's the mailman that drives the blue Honda Element with one white door. I have called in a second investigation on him with USPS, but honestly they act like they could care less. =-( I really hate to think that he is taking mail from others in our community, this is the THIRD package that was sent to us and not delivered(difference is this package had tracking/delivery confirmation) If you live in Heber Springs and have had problems with missing mail PLEASE call in and launch an investigation.. This has to stop, but the postmaster here in Heber says they've never had a problem with him and that he's trustworthy.(but remember when the I said the mailman couldn't look me in the eyes while discussing our missing package!) SHADY SHADY SHADY!!!! If I thought for a second he would have talked to me on camera I would have recorded him directly, but after our previous talk I figured he was just drive off if he saw the camera.. So I let it record the sound from my jacket pocket.

Issues like this is why I always try to get anything mailed to us to come along with confirmation of delivery. Not saying that anyone who works for the goverment would actually steal but funny how things just so happen to disappear..... Thanks for sharing and keep on em'.

we have to be careful now that the post office are in the brink of closing, their worker think they can get away with stealing just like in other companies that hve gone through the same thing. i sent a package on the 21 dec that has not arrived and am going to the postal office on the fifth (if it hasn't gotten there) to file a report, it's insured so hopefully everything will turn out okay

@COMMANDERJSP That only applies on the phone and inside private residences in 12 of the 50 states. This was filmed on the road in public. In Arkansas that could have legally been recorded even if it were over the phone since AR is a one-party consent state. What happened in the video was no different than what undercover cops & Criminal CI's do while wearing a wire under their clothes to bust someone.

Be careful. Sound recording someone without their permission is illegal in some places. Sorry you are having issues with your mail. That sucks!
