Environmental Conference / Paryavaran Parishad III

An environment conference was organised by the Ecological society in Pune. This event brought together a lot of organisations and individuals working on a variety of issues. Six groups discussed subjects ranging from Energy to Education, from Economics to Agriculture and from urban agglomerations to wildlife and biodiversity. The essence of this day will be put together in a manifesto which will be forwarded to concerned individuals, organisations and political parties.

Chhan bolle faar. Hit the nail on the head, environmental policies and acts should be based locally.

Rightly said about the rivers and deforestation. India is "developing" but I think if we account for the loss of biodiversity and degradation of our environment in our economy, we have paid a huge price for the "development" and still continue to do the same.
