Nice solution, but it doesn't help me. I'm looking for automatic fuel delivery system that could deliver fuel automaticaly 24/7.
I'll try to solve it by adding one way valve at the bottom of the returl line.

Did you manage to solve the problem? I have exactly he same problem... it would help if you told me how to solve it completely :)

I solved it by moving away from this design. If you dig around for the "fusion burner" video, that's what I'm using now - a manual top-up tank, essentially.

you might need to use a larger return line...
or with the needle valve you are useing why not just have a single line down to the burner and an air inlet with the needle valve to control the syphon down to the burner?

I pretty much have been running it virtually as a single line system. A larger return line isn't very practical, though I can see the value in it. I'd still like to be able to (almost) walk away from this thing and not have it either die out or burn the house down. That reliability is coming, but is still at least 1 more revision away (as always).

interesting concept, when the bugs all get worked out it should run forever--well at least a long time!

So far I'm at a standstill. The inline trap on the return line didn't work as intended, and without it fuel will flow up the return until it locks the line up. At this point I'm out of ideas other than messing with the tubing inside the burner element..
