  • Lower F =- Higher aperture

    Higher aperture =- Lower DOF

    Lower DOF =- Lower F

  • @ruizinkpt yep. might've misspoken in the video. mah bad.

  • Hi there, Im getting my first prime lens and Im lookin for an advice on what to get. My 2 choices are 35mm 0r the 50mm? What do u think is more useful.

  • @Denso2131 hmm it depends on your perspective, really. for my eye, i see things best with a 35. but for others they prefer the 50. i'd shoot with both and see what you like. it helps to get a feel for these 1,400 dollar lenses before just purchasing them. let me know what you end up with. both are awesome.

  • @Tylerbranchphoto Hi, I've recently decided to get an 85mm 1.8 for my 550D. I already have the 50mm 1.8, do you think its the right lens since its equal to 135mm on DX.

  • Nice vid. I went to your website, you do amazing stuff. keep it up.

  • Good video.

  • good info my good man. Got an opinion on the 28mm 2.8?

  • Love ur videos. I don't have alot of money so I'm Just trying to find out which lens I should buy first for weddings, either the 50mm f1.4 or the 35mm f1.4. What should I do?? Plz reply

  • Another good point to mention about primes is that you become more intimately familiar with each lens' field of view, so you already have the frame in mind when you're looking for shots. When you spot something you can lift the camera up to capture the moment with part of the composition already done in your head. :)

  • OK I love primes and use them all the time but your argument for using them is incredibly weak.

  • Totally Agree, Primes Rule! I love shooting my 50 1.4 and my 135mm f2L.

  • i'm surprise you went with a 50 but i understand it. i used to be a zooms guy, had 16-35, 24-70, & of corse the 70-200 2.8L IS however i have since then switch to only Primes.. 135L was a must, but i was a bit iffy on 24L or 35L but went with the 35. now the middle is where we have different choices i went with the 85mm 1.2L
