OMG! It made me sad to know this but to see it, i didnt know it was that bad! This makes me cry (literally)! Those ugh, those people need to go to jail! How can someone live with themselves?!?!? How can we stop this!?!?!?

@Penguinface142 What they don't show is how they get the hermit crabs out of their shells to force into the painted shells. :( Not saying this particular video, but it is said that some will slowly freeze a hermit crab, drill holes into the original shells, heat the shell over flame to make them vacate their shells to take a painted/fancy shell.

F**k this sh** ugh i have a hermit crab and these friggin idiots shoved them in a shell i go to the beach to pick shells for it no wonder it always picks the non painted ones

@dancerocker101 but many do collect shells off of the shores, hence why there is such a shortage of shells in the wild for the hermit crabs to move into. This is why some will move into garbage for protection, bottle cap lids, broken bottle tops, etc.

Wow, all of you people are over-reacting, I love animals, but this is not really that bad, they don't hurt the crabs, they don't have them in a tiny tank/cage like most mistreated animals are, god, by the reactions of some of you here, you'd think they stamped on them, or tore of limbs......

@irelandr00l A hermit crab will permit themselves to be pulled apart as opposed to giving up their shell they need to survive. Have you read any information as how hermit crabs are tortured to give up their shells?? And the paint when it chips, is toxic when they eat it.

This is so horrible! I got hermit cabs 2 days ago and they had painted shells. Now I feel sad!

Why would anyone dislike this? The user is putting up this video to show how cruel these people are being and how painted shells are a harm to hermit crabs. I liked this video. Say no to painted shells! Lol

Evil people I never make my hermit crabs go into a shell if they don't want to I find my shells at the beach in just put them in the cage and wait that's just wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!??!?!!!!­!!!!!!!!!! I'll post a Viedo of my crabs watch it please

Oh my goodness, those poor things!! WTF is wrong with these people?! I love my hermit crabs, and would never try to force them into those god-awful shells. I usually go to the beach, or stores that sell beach shells, my crabs like those better.
