@wakajawakaful Work on your reading comprehension, moron.

@Asymmatrix ok, it doesn't surprise me a lot, 'cause I remember Belew uses the same guitar effect in a live of "Elephant Talk" recorded in San Francisco... (and sorry if my english isn't perfect ^^")

@Redzombie13 Tool opened for KC on one of their tours. Primus and Tool are both big fans. The fact is that most bands cant even play the shit KC plays, especially the guitar parts. Personally I'm happier with KC not being considered a 'commercial success' on the level of Tool. Tool and Primus sound quite simplistic in comparison to King Crimson. Thus, the mass appeal.

Naw dude!!! We're talking about real music. Real thought-provoking music!!! Not bullshit music!!!
FYI, The Beatles albums have sold over 300 million copies worldwide, so Britney has a long freakin'
way to go to top that!!!

@Redzombie13 Britney Spears probably sold more albums than The Beatles. Enough said @ mainstream 'success.'
The Sheltering Sky is a novel set in the Sahara. It was written by Paul Bowles in 1947 - himself also a composer of note.. The Guitar sound here is meant to sound Arabic. The novel is about obsession, death and madness. The Sahara itself becomes a character in the novel. KC have done a -great job with this music, in capturing all of that. Bowles is worth reading about. He was easily one of the most interesting people of the 20th century. He died in Tangier in 1999, aged 88.

5:59 : Does Fripp imitate the noise of a sandstorm ????

@Dramalius Interesting observation. It's Belew soling, didn't realize it either until I saw it live. The solo is Fripp - Belew - Fripp.
