שלמה צח, ביקש מאילנית להצטרף אל שלישייה שהקים בשם "גידי צח וחנה", אך זמן קצר לאחר מכן נותרו השניים כצמד בשם "אילן ואילנית".

אילן ואילנית (שלמה צח וחנה דרזנר) היו זוג על הבמה וכמו כן גם היו זוג בחיים. הם היו נשואים כ-4 שנים (1966-1970).

לאחר פירוק השלישיה "גידי צח וחנה", נותרו הצמד "צח וחנה" הכוריאוגרף יונתן כרמון, שעבד על מופע גדול, הפנה אותם לבחינות קבלה אצל יצחק (זיקו) גרציאני, מנהלו המוסיקלי של המופע, וגרציאני בחר בצמד , שהיה בתחילת דרכו. כרמון חיפש שם קל, ונתן לו את השם "אילן ואילנית".
