University of Toronto - SAE Aero Design 2011 Micro Final Round

Final round of the 2011 SAE Aero Design - Micro Class Competition.

Payload: 4lbs

In the first round, the micro class plane flew with 2.2 lbs of payload, successfully taking off and landing without incident.

In this final round, there was a large crosswind, but the plane took off and completed the first two turns. About 40 feet from the runway, a huge gust of crosswind hit the plane. Since the plane was on approach, it did not have enough altitude to recover and subsequently crashed short of the runway.
