Yes, Photoshop does amazing things. And makeup isn't b needed by many people! And makeup is usually used in video presentations to highlight the contrasts and lower the effects of harsh or low lighting - a very acceptable use.
But makeup can be helpful with those wanting to make a good example on a first meeting - when looks can be important for attraction from others.
The inner beauty or inner ugly - that is what people eventually see and remember you by. And your inner beauty is awesome!.

I don't like calling people out on stuff, but there's something very contradictory about saying societal standards of beauty aren't real while choosing to put random chemicals on your face in order to cater to those standards...though I guess it's a necessity in your line of work.
I actually tell all my female friends that I think they'd look much better without makeup. =]
For me, striving for physical beauty is fine if doesn't affect more important stuff, like physical and mental health. :P
