  • @viking1659 i hate to burst your bubble viking but if the referee was going to card the player it HAD to be right then and there because that was the next stoppage in play so the player could be carded. once the ball was back in play and the referee allowed this to happen he cannot go back and card the player since this is now a new play. if the referee wanted to give a card the ONLY time he could do it would have been at that stoppage while not allowing a quick kick to be taken.

  • @soccerrefwilcox Since when has a referee not been allowed to go back and card a player? A referee is well within his right to allow a quick free kick, let the play develop and then afterwards assuming he remembered the correct player who caused the original infringement, card him. It works the exact same way as an advantage. That aside i do agree it is not for a player to decide if quick free kick is taken but it is well within there right to try it if the ref pulls it back he pulls it back

  • @catero01 Well he can't do that

  • nice video...........

  • @relztem1 that's the most ignorant thing to say. you might as well say "football is the manliest sport because we wear the biggest pads"

  • @BuffaloSportsFan Sorry but you are wrong. The referee clearly was going to give a card. He should have blown the whistle and stopped play. Once he allowed the play to restart he now has lost his opportunity to card the player. It became a ceremonial restart once he made the decision to card the player. Players DO NOT decide whether a dfk is a quick start the ref does.

  • Cannot stop a quick restart...unless there is more than just a player down...if that team quickly restarts then play continues until next stoppage.

  • referee should whistle it back, caution the defense player and let offence team re-kick the free kick

  • any one who plays soccer dosent know what a real sport is, and that is a fact.

  • @catero01 no, u can't give a caution after play has been restarted like that. the ref clearly wanted the players to wait and should have whistled them back.
