@katiehorsegirl their is a powder you can buy at your local feed store that you will want to use some of the mites might come out with washing but it is best to treat birds before you wash them for mites and then follow up after washing
at 4:15 is says to use petroleum jelly dont use it their is a better product called vet rx it isn't sticky like petrol jelly and wont allow dirt to stick to the combs and wattles and you will bget better results with vet rx. also after washing keep the birds in a warm place untill they are dry its is best to use a heat lamp on them
