Watering is one of the most important aspects to keeping your Just Add Ice Orchid plant flourishing and in bloom for months. Orchid care has never been easier! For the watering of Just Add Ice Orchids, you just add 3 ice cubes once a week - it's that simple!.

  • You should hold the plant over the sink and pour water all over the surface of the media and let the water drain out the bottom. This will help prevent mineral build up (hard water) that can harm the plant. It also will ensure that ALL the media becomes wetted. Ice cubes will not thouroughly wet all the media (especially bark based) because there is no capillary action in bark.

Overwatering means watering TOO OFTEN, not lots of water at once.

Never let stand in water. ROOTS LOVE AIR

  • Я бы не рекомендовала укладывать лед непосредственно на корни. Можно положить на корни мох, а уже на него лед.

  • you can see - the roots on the TOP are not healthy looking, sure its a shock for the plant...

  • You want kill your orchids just add ice

  • that will causes a shock in the plant

  • is it safe to water orchids with ice??? i mean is it safe for the roots? i think that is too cold for the orchid. you have to water your orchid with destilled water with warm temperature. orchid roots dislike cold water and the plant too.

  • I think that water from ice is to cool for the orchids

  • Really, when you water, you should hold the plant over the sink and pour water all over the surface of the media and let the water drain out the bottom. This will help prevent mineral build up (hard water) that can harm the plant. It also will ensure that all the media becomes wetted. Ice cubes will not thouroughly wet all the media (especially bark based) because there is no capillary action to draw the water around to other parts of the pot.
