Hot Rod Lincoln was released on 4 Star 1733 in 1959. It was written in by Charlie Ryan and W.S. Stevenson and originally released in 1955. This is my favorite verson of this tune, though Johnny Bond also does an excellent version of this classic. Unfortunatly we lost Mr. Ryan on February 16 2008. I hope you enjoy this one and feel free to comment.

  • I still have my original 33rpm record of this, which I bought at the state fair back in 1960. Shows a picture of Charlie and a nice '32 coupe flathead V8 on the jacket. Wonder why everyone associates '32 coupes with this song? Charlie clearly says it's a flathead V12 and that he has a carful of other kids. It was probably a Tudor or even a sedan. Some songs just stick with you from childhood, and a lifetime of hard knocks fails to make you forget them. This is one of those.

  • johnny bond & charlie ryan use the same singer!
