On January 25, 2008 a City of San Diego Wastewater Truck blasted brackish dirty water from a pipe in the street on Coast Boulevard and Jenner Street into the Pacific Ocean just North of Children's Pool and by the seal rookery.
People need to know the smell my childhood was full of this stuff. Horrible and they don't even if children die cause of Storm Drain pollution. I have know many swimmers and surfers sick from this as well. I grew up visiting San Diego and it's beaches every weekend. Thanks for posting.
Pretty dark ya pretty dark. If it looks bad it is bad ignorant little know it all. run off is run off. the fact is that nightrates are needed to sustain life in the oceans and what this truck is dong makes zero difference one way or the other. just another spoiled liberal jerk.
It was hard to capture with my mini DV camcorder, just how blackened the waters of the "Seal Pool" became. It was completely surreal to see the Seals swimming in this gunk. I loved it when the City worker exclaimed that only good things were coming out. These sweet animals have suffered through years of abuse and negligence.
Great footage! What a pity, I bet this happens a lot more than people realize.
