Wampler Ecstasy overdrive guitar effects pedal demo w SG & Dr Z amp

http://www.wamplerpedals.com The Extacy Over Drive from Wampler Pedals. Totally blew my mind on this one....worth every penny, no doubt about it. Super shape-able and just a thrill to monkey with. I used my SG Custom Shop Les Paul, and the mighty Dr Z MAZ 18 210 Combo for the review.

since I am a beginner I have no idea what "overdriven" means, is it like distortion just more clean? From what I hear sound like simple distortion.

Hi GMD. I have a Wampler Ectasy OD pedal... But I find that when I switch the effect on and off... I get a pop?? Do you know if this common with these as I see you have tried a number of Wampler pedals.

Killer drive for a Strat, you should really hear it on a half stack, just kills. If you dig TELs the Paisley is more designed for them. The 65 Blackface OD works for either. Wampler recommeded for me the Ecstasy into the 65 as a preamping stack OD.

A lot of the little amps used on YT do not do some of the ODs justice because they are already breaking up. I prefer the half stack either 50 or 100 watt mode, this drive comes into its own with that headroom and dynamic range.
