it's actually nice to see that he's human after all

@StudioAnnur LOL well spotted
-
after this I'm going right to 1980's lyceum duke's travels. sweet

your'e right, on the duke tour (the only other time they've played the duke travels /ends piece) that part was played by chester because phil got backstage to change clothes and then appearing all white for the final segment of dukes end. even chester did it differently with double kick, so it must be difficult to play this, even for chester, with the snare playing the one's and the kick playing all in betweens...not as easy as it looks

out of practice, thats all! They are humans-and not machines! I habve seen two shows of the 2007 Tour (Munich and Paris) and it was great.

@ToxicTurquoise454 He wasn't drumming to his liking. As a drummer myself, I want to do it perfect with no mistakes and I think Phil got angry over that
-
Correct. He was also (and still is) suffering from a kind of spinal compression which means he's lost the feeling in his hands. At moments, he had trouble even holding the sticks!

@sturoc0 No one will ever be able to replace Steve Hackett! His body of work speaks for itself.

Mike R was bass player for most of the golden age of Genesiswith occasional 12 string duties.
So for Daryl to say that he is not a great guitar would hold some weight.
Look at Daryl's discography and then listen.
Mike's playing compliments Genesis and has it's place there and in Mike and the McNuggets

The part where Phil gets frustrated with himself I believe is actually from a different practice session. Note they're not wearing the same clothes. I think I heard somewhere that they were rehearsing 'Domino' and Phil got real mad at himself because he couldn't remember the words. That may be where it was taken from.
No. He was simply out of practice. He's a perfectionist, that's why he got mad. That's all.

I saw an interview with Daryl where he pretty much said that it seemed to him that no one in the band had really practiced before showing up for rehearsals in 2007, except for himself and Chester. It was also interesting in that interview that Daryl flat out said that Mike is not a great guitar player, but that he has a certain style that sounds good on some songs.
