"Ok I'm wrong. Somebody's got to give me a better idea" No they don't. All they have to do is point out where the idea is bad. To say you are going to stick to your idea until a better idea comes along is stupid. It is like a shifting of the burden of proof. If your idea has flaws weight it accordingly regardless if a new idea can take its place or not. You can leave a question unanswered. It is called being comfortable with uncertainty.
Just that last part bothered me. The rest was gold.
Gladwell is correct about his belief in Asian performance in math vs. Western performance. In my calculus 2 class all the Asian students ace the test while most westerners fail. haha! I didn't believe this until I lived it and experienced it.
