Rising from the ashes of Green River, Mudhoney sounds like a heavily punk influenced Grunge band at first, but on the second listen they have the heavy sludgy distortion of the Melvins and Soundgarden. This unique combo easily cemented Mudhoney a place in Grunge history and played as an important influence on Kurt Cobain of Nirvana.

Line-up:
Mark Arm - guitar, vocals
Steve Turner - guitar, vocals
Matt Lukin - bass guitar, vocals
Dan Peters - drums, vocals

  • Should I buy every mudhoney album, or are there a few I shouldn't bother with?

  • BURN IT CLEEEEAAANNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! x

  • burn it clean is a song that defines mudhoney just listen to the rawness of mark arms vocals pure dirt music

  • @NotableJInx2 Steve Turner has the Big Muff, and Mark Arm has (in fact had) the Superfuzz

  • Am I right to assume the guitar left in the mix has the Big Muff and the right one the Superfuzz?

If so, who played which one?

  • Great song, great drum work

  • @Thebluesrockmusic actually this was recorded with shitty japanese small scale guitars and old electro harmonix pedals from thrift stores (you could find em back then!) so its just them staying true to form.

  • I saw Pearl Jam live two nights ago and Mudhoney was the opening act. The music was great, but I think that Mudhoney could've gotten a much better sound had they purchased better equipment. Rumour has it that the band bought their equipment at a thrift store right before the tour so that they would be able to leave on time. But then again, I suppose that was a very punk-esque thing to do.

  • possibly their best song ever imo , these were the best mudhoney days i think

  • play jackass!

    ha who else heard that.
