Airgun shooting: long range

Shooting pop cans and other random stuff. This is very far for a gun with a pistol barrel and only gets 515 to 550 fps and it was WINDY! My clicks translated to 10 inches higher from a regular sight in at 20 feet. This is 150 of my paces and I have a long stride. I was using Crosman Premier Hollow Points. on one of the shots you didnt use the pistol. it was the shot at the thing in the tree. after you shot it there was a supersonic crack. nice try though

It is just that the pellet slapped the cat tail hard and the echo sounds funny across that part of the lake. I did notice it cracks when I shoot at it with any airgun. Maybe I found a glitch in the matrix! lol.

hey u know how it says the velocity is up to 495 fps in canada max, but what will happen if we pump it more then usual will the fps go higher then max? and how much pumps do u need for maximum fps thats on the box.

10 pumps with a medium weight pellet with a cold gun will get you 550 best. To get more with more pumps you would need a valve mod and a longer barrel.

sorry for asking alot of questions but what do u mean by a "cold gun"

A cold gun is when you first shoot it after it hasnt been shot at least for 5 minutes. All pump pneumatics get better fps the first few shots.

Crack barrels are the best but not with a scope. But I shoot strictly iron sights. Screw any type of pump gun

yes but its not about fps..

use heavy pellets like baracuda's or something like that. they go much slower with a huge advantage at impact and destrying things.

it will with premier light weight pellets they used 4 there testing, my gun has cron. @ 1255 with gamo raptors they r fast butt poorlly made an very inaccurate, for a pellet that cost between 7-9 cents a piece! my gun is acc. up 2 130 yrds. with crossman pointed hunting pellets, i have just installed a gtr lll trigger, and am hitting 3 inch ballons @ 130 yrds. the avg. crono. for it after the tune up is 1099 fps. for 760 shots, my chrono. is hooked up my lap top, so your wrong!!!

it wont make it to 1200 fps lol. thats factory bullshit. they use FPS as a salesthingy to people who dont know much about it. becuase a spring gun going through the sound cant be accurate...

ive had 1 those guns for yrs they r great, for the price, i recentlly bought a crosman storm xt, it came with a very nice center point optics clearview scope 3-9x32, the same scope sells 4 54,00 at wally world, the gun/scope r 114.00, ive shot about 2000 rounds thru it, its my first springer break barrel, @ 1200 fps this gun is dead on, i shoot 222 brass @ 100yrds on my outdoor range, im shooting asprin @ 45 yrds. has some recoil and a 2 stage adjustable trigger, its a serious long ranger!
