  • @75DrummerBoy Mike Love is a scumbag, end of story.

  • I love hearing Mike mince words: "I've ALWAYS loved Smile, may have said a disparaging word about a couple of the lyrics." (You mean like "columinated ruins domino" ??) I think he was jealous of Van Dyke, plain & simple. (I'M THE LYRICIST !!!)

Regarding the music of Smile, how many DAYS (not YEARS) has he thought this music is "brilliant" ????

Also Mike has NEVER missed a financial opportunity in his life---that's why he's behind releasing this AND the 50th tour. FOLLOW THE MONEY !!!

  • Look. Mike Love wasn't the end of SMiLE.

Think about it. The entire album was almost recorded. Mike Love was obviously doing the vocals.

I think he probably instilled a lot of doubt into the mind of Brian Wilson, but that's it. It's not like he was burning the session tapes.

SMiLE failed because Brian Wilson's mental health failed. End of story.

  • The reason there is so much hate for Mike Love is because despite what his intentions may have been, he played a direct role in the demise of Smile, which was the direct reason for their downfall as a band. If Mike Love didn't go and fuck everything up we could have had The Beatles and The Beach Boys riffing off each other for another few albums, and the world would have much more amazing music to listen to.

  • Too all of you who constantly post Hateful Mike Love comments I just want to ask if you've ever heard his cd of great hits he churned out when Brian left the group. It's called I cant write a song w/o you. Some of the songs are 1. Why can't I write like Brian 2. How fuckin lucky am I that they let me be in the group 3. I can't play an instrument 4. My voice is so lousy anyone can sing in my range. This is just a sampling for the rest buy the cd or download it at Thiscddontexist@dontwasteyour$.com

  • Just listen to the music and SMiLE!

I'm so tired of all those e-fights on Mike and Brian (Youtube should disable comments to music posts for all I care). At least start a new never-ending discussion if Al should have left for his dentist education and the impact on the first BB albums. Or if you're really shameless you can start picking a fight with Dennis and Carl for dying prematurely. The truth is we will do so one day too. Until then I thank all the BB for adding some music to my day!

  • @bjpastoor You are right,it is long known that Brian,Dennis and Carl had a difficult childhood owing to their father Murray and Brian was a rather sensitive person even before the Beach Boys started and the pressure from all sides eventually caved him in so Mike and drugs were not the only factor but they did play a big part and in past interviews Mike has been rather dismissive of"Smile" so you cant really blame anyone for having and issue with the guy

  • Its only too obvious that Mike changed his tune about "Smile" when Brians version was released in 2004 to universal acclaim, hence the law suit he launched against Brian a year later over a promotional CD for "Smile"and also having the gaul to say in a interview that he wished Brain would have involved the rest of the band in BWPS and now his glorification in these otherwise excellent Webisodes of a project he has a past history of trashing.Sorry Mike but the fact is,YOU BLEW IT!!!!

  • @75DrummerBoy Obviously you either missed or didnt understand the part where I said ive been a musician for 34 years, would that not be obvious to you that I have been in bands for years myself.I am a guitarist, write songs and have been doing so since 1976 so I suggest you learn to read what has actually been written not just the parts you want to read, then you will be more qualified to give a more accurate reply. Its obvious to me that you didn t read past the first 3 sentences

  • @johnboymac2000

Sorry to inform you I have been playing in bands for years. Not just collecting records and being a DJ!!!

  • @75DrummerBoy Cleary not a brain to your credit
