This was the Final Project of my Electronic Field Production/ Electronic News Gathering Class. I provided the narrator voice (yeah, I know it's a bit too monotone... this was before my radio gigs) , and the woman's voice is Dwana, Buford's daughter.

  • An AMERICAN HERO! Marine to Sheriff... Ailed by disease but he did what he did despite outside plague. If you get a CHANCE to visit ADAMSVILLE TN DO VISIT IT! THANX!!!

  • @nviso209 I actually teach at Adamsville High School.

  • One of my life long hero's. The original films were filmed in my home town. Henderson, TN.

  • Glad for you, but I really wish it had been filmed in the county it happened in.

  • @fecklessgadfly The local politicians wouldn't allow it to be filmed there!

  • @meddetect10 yep... politicians can be stupid sometime.

  • This man grew up in a corrupt area, knew how corrupt it was and did something about the corruption. He became a Sheriff and went through Hell trying to clean up his county and not backing down from orginized crime. It eventually cost him his life, but his soul can rest for trying to do the right thing. He's set the example for anyone who pins a badge on their chest to never give up the fight. Anyone who wants to criticize his service needs to factually research his service.

  • Walk softly and carry a big stick!

  • Very nice, a true American Hero

  • @jac01970

    Waits second!

    4 part question:

    1. You've actually met Dwana Pusser???

    2. What is she really like???

    3. What do she do for a living???

    &

    4. Is the Pusser's Family Resturant still open to this day???

  • @driver3464

Do not see the Kevin Sorbo versions (He made two of them).

Your eyes will bleed and like the rock version it was a Disgrace to The Pusser Family & to Buford Pusser himself.

  • @sparta814 Although I think Brian Dennehy is a very underrated actor, and one of the best in the business, I didn't like his performance in that made-for-TV version. Watch him in the very depressing "Belly Of An Architect" however; he gives the performance of a lifetime there.

  • @TheFIRSTFatJohn

    What a about Brian Dennehy.

a young Dennehy once played Buford Pusser on a TV-movie version of Walking Tall, renamed "A Real American Hero" in 1978.

  • @flyboymd82

    WRONG!!!

It's "Speak softly and carry a big stick".

  • Buford Pusser true american hero and a real man

  • @fecklessgadfly fail anyone this year?

  • A Real Man.

  • I truly wish the Mcnairy Couty Sherif's Office would put out a web page.
